This educational project explores the complex bidirectional relationship between psoriasis and overweight or obesity, highlighting the shared immune-mediated and metabolic pathways that contribute to increased disease burden and poorer clinical outcomes. The programme will support healthcare professionals in recognizing how excess weight can influence psoriasis severity, treatment response, persistence, and overall patient wellbeing. Through practical, clinically focused content, participants will strengthen their ability to identify patients who may benefit from additional metabolic assessment, conduct respectful and effective weight-related conversations, and integrate obesity management into routine psoriasis care. The project will also provide guidance on moving from recognition to action by establishing appropriate referral pathways and promoting multidisciplinary collaboration among dermatology, primary care, obesity medicine, nutrition, and other relevant specialties.
