The 2022-2023 Fertility Nurses & Midwives Educational Program

This educational initiative dedicated to nurses and midwifes consists of five separate on-demand digital modules covering a broad set of educational topics including an overview of infertility, physiology of fertility, diagnosis of infertility and its treatments, psychological support for patients and the importance of how to communicate with patients.

This series of activities aims to help nurses and/or midwifes at different stages of their professional careers and lifelong learning in managing their role which is complex and multi-faceted in fertility practice.

  • Describe the potential causes of, and diagnostic approaches used in fertility practice
  • Outline ART procedures, steps, medications, and interventions involved according to recent data and guidelines
  • Apply effective methods of communication to improve patient-nurse and interprofessional relationships
  • Explain psychological effects of infertility on patients and apply effective methods providing emotional support for patients
  • Describe and apply evidence-based methods, such as the SPIKE method, in delivering negative results to patients

  • Module 3: Infertility treatments: a look into the ART procedures
    LAUNCH: 30 November 2022
  • Module 4: Psychological support for patients

  • Module 5: Nurse – Patient communication: patient-centered approach
    LAUNCH: 15 January 2023
  • Module 6: Live hands-on training on ultrasound aspects in assisted human reproduction
