Professor Andrea M. Isidori, MD, Ph.D. is Full Professor of Endocrinology at Sapienza University of Rome, the largest University Hospital in Italy, and Consultant Andrologist at Policlinico Umberto I of Rome. Since 1999 he has been carrying out translational research in andrology and endocrinology merging basic and clinical approaches.
Professor Isidori has contributed to different areas of steroid hormone pathophysiology: from sexual medicine to infertility treatment, from endocrine aspects to testicular tumors, including a special expertise in adrenal disorders, publishing over 270 International Peer-Reviewed articles, with an overall Impact Factor >1300 points (h-index 72– G-scholar).
Professor Isidori has been elected member of the Executive Committee of the European Academy of Andrology in 2014 and re-elected in 2018. He has been a member of the International Consultation of Sexual Medicine (ISSM 2015). In 2017 he has been elected treasurer of the ISA – International Society of Andrology.
Professor Isidori received various awards from national and international Scientific Societies. He is currently the President of the Italian Society and Andrology and Sexual Medicine.
Professor Isidori believes in the importance of dissemination of knowledge, the value of translational research, from bench to bedside, and the promotion of a multidimensional andrology addressing fertility, sexual medicine, endocrinology, cardiovascular health and oncology.
