Professor Sascha Gerdes, MD, is Professor of Dermatology and Venereology and Deputy Director of the Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology at the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein, Campus Kiel. As a board-certified dermatologist with additional qualifications in allergology and immunology, his clinical and scientific work focuses on chronic inflammatory skin diseases, particularly psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and autoimmune skin diseases. Since 2012, he has been Head of the Department for Clinical Trials at the Center for Inflammatory Skin Diseases in Kiel and has served as principal and coordinating investigator in numerous national and international clinical trials. His research has been published in more than 140 peer-reviewed scientific articles and has received several national and international awards. In addition to his clinical and scientific activities, Professor Gerdes is actively involved in postgraduate medical education and serves on the boards of several national scientific societies and advisory committees.
