Andrea Borini is Clinical and Scientific Director at Tecnobios Procreazione, Centre for Reproductive Health, Bologna, Italy and Scientific Director of 9.Baby Fertility Network, Italy. After completing his MD degree at the University of Bologna in 1986, Dr. Borini obtained his specialization degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the same institution in 1991. During this time, he was also a Research Fellow at the University of California Irvine, Irvine, California (1989–1991), working with the équipe of Prof. Ricardo Ash in the “Center for Reproductive Health”. He attained at University of Padova, Padova, Italy a Master’s degree in: Andrology (I level in 2008 and II Level in 2009) and Reproductive Medicine (II level in 2010). Since 1983, until 1992 he has attended the Reproductive Phisiopathology Service managed by Prof. Carlo Flamigni, working on metabolism of steroids hormons, endometrium carcinoma, menopause related issues, creation of the sperimental model of extracorporeal perfusion of a human uterus, artificial reproduction techniques. In 1986, he was a member of the reasearch programme supported by University of Bologna “Endometrial modifications induced by in vitro oestrogens”. Updated to 20/06/2022 He has been a past-Chairman (2008 – may 2018) of Italian Society of Fertility, Sterility and Reproductive Medicine (SIFES e MR); he is a member of America Fertility Society (AFS); he is a member of the ESHRE- Task Force “Fertility preservation in severe diseases” and of International Society for Fertility Presevation (ISFP). He has been a past-Chairman of the CECOS – Italy (2002 – 2008) and Profert -Italian Society for Fertility Preservation (2008-2013). Dr. Borini is member of the editorial board of Fertility and Sterility and associate editor for Reproductive BioMedicine Online, JARG, EJOGRB, Human Reproduction and HR Update. In 2014 he has gained the MERCK – SERONO “Grant for Fertility Innovation” for his research project “IR Microspectroscopy on GCs: a new non-invasive oocyte assessment”. He has obtained the national scientific qualification for first and second level teaching (2019-2025).
