Jan Bosteels, MD, PhD is the Head of department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Imelda hospital, Bonheiden, Belgium. He is a general gynecologist with special interest in reproductive surgery. He is editor of the Cochrane Gynecology and Fertility Group, member of Cochrane Belgium and member of the Centre for Evidence-based Medicine, Leuven, Belgium. He has authored several systematic reviews, including 4 Cochrane systematic reviews. He is scientific collaborator of the department Development and Regeneration, Faculty of medicine KU Leuven and visiting professor department Development and Regeneration at the university of Ghent, Belgium. He has authored 85 peer reviewed publications and given many lectures worldwide mainly on the effectiveness of reproductive surgery for improving reproductive outcomes. The past years he has been involved in designing and conducting RCTs on the effectiveness of vNOTES surgery for benign gynecological disease.
